Cratepack

Identical items · a regular grid

Test the grid before filling the crate.

Enter internal container dimensions, outer item dimensions and a gap between neighboring items. Cratepack compares the distinct single-orientation rectangular grids and shows their exact counts.

Best of the tested uniform grids only. This is not a maximum for arbitrary packing, mixed orientations or tilted items.

All measurements in mm

Internal usable container dimensions
Outer dimensions of one item

Dimensions must be positive. Gap may be zero. Plain unsigned decimals, up to 6 fractional places and 1,000,000,000 mm. No required gap at the container walls.

Measure internal usable space and outer item sizes yourself. No wall-thickness, compression or tolerance adjustment is inferred. Read the bounds.

Compare the tested assignments

L/W/H refer to the item’s entered dimensions; each row assigns them to container X/Y/Z. Equal item-edge values collapse equivalent assignments. Table scrolls horizontally on narrow screens.

Keep the current grid calculation

Counts and finite decimal spans are exact within the entered model. Editing any field clears old results, table, schematic and exports until you calculate again.

One shared orientation

Every item uses the same axis assignment in a row. The tool does not mix upright and sideways items in different layers.

Between items only

Three items along an axis have two internal gaps. No additional wall margins are added; enter usable container dimensions accordingly.

A limited geometric model

Real tolerances, irregular packaging, weight and stability are outside the count. Read the method and limits.
